61c is the number of a bus Supriya Kejriwal took during her college days in Pittsburgh to a quaint neighbouring, Squirrel Hill that spilled over with bookstores, coffee shops, cupcakes eateries and was just a walk downtime where even time slowed down to let you do your thing. Her dream was realised when along with her partner Prashish More, she launched 61c – a store that was named after a bus and showcased beautiful stationery. Mumbai based Entreprenuers, the brains behind the e-store believe in creating stationery that is marked by grace. Supriya says, "There is a huge demand for good quality personalised stationery. Elegant and affordable stationery was difficult to find and buy – and that is exactly what we wanted to address. Also, owning a printing press and having a creative mind means that there are always new ideas and experiments happening. We have a wider access to varied production processes and technologies which let us create and design without inhibitions. We started by creating a lot of samples has trial runs or prototypes and ended up sharing them with friends and family and enjoyed seeing them use it. All of this led to 61c, which currently retails in over 60 outlets across the country (www.61c.in). Although the idea originated overseas, their products are seeped in our Indian heritage – often drenched as they are in bright colours and royal motifs. The quality impresses and is highly international. They acknowledge that the Indian consumer is far more conscious today. 61C has taken care to nurture a love for stationery in children too. There are twisty notepads, funky wall-art, wacky bookmarks and notbooks galore.
